School of Medicine’s Gauri Pawar named to the ACGME Residency Review Committee for Neurology

Gauri Pawar, M.D., associate professor and director of the residency program in the Department of Neurology, was recently selected to serve on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Residency Review Committee for Neurology. Dr. Pawar’s voting term will begin July 1, 2017, with additional non-voting duties beginning as early as January 2017. -

With the opening of its new home – the 10-story tower attached to WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital – just three months away, the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute is expanding its roster of experts to meet the ever-increasing demand for its services. Mohamad Alkhouli, M.D., Walid Gharib, M.D., Takashi Murashita, M.D., Sameer Raina, M.D., J. WVU Medicine-West Virginia University Hospitals ranked sixth among academic medical centers

WVU Medicine-West Virginia University Hospitals was ranked the sixth top academic medical center out of more than 200 participating organizations in a national study of major academic medical centers and community hospitals. WVU Medicine-WVU Hospitals received Vizient’s 2016 Bernard A. Birnbaum, M.D., Quality Leadership Award for superior performance.
