Nutrition Services Program

The Paths for Parents Nutrition Services Program provides nutrition services to the West Virginia Children With Special Health Care Needs Program. Services include clinical nutrition services for participants; guidance, education and support for caregivers; and training and education about nutrition for disabilities and chronic conditions to other agencies, entities and professionals.

Paths for Parents Dietitians can help with:

  • Special diets, special nutrient requirements
  • Alternate forms of feeding
  • Weight problems
  • Vitamin and mineral deficiencies and other side effects of long term or multiple medications
  • Special eating or feeding problems that make it difficult to meet nutritional needs

Children who are not in the Children With Special Health Care Needs Program (CSHCN) but who have a special nutrition need can have up to 2 visits with a CSHCN dietitian.

To schedule an appointment in our Nutrition Clinic or to speak with our dietitian, please contact your local CSHCN nurse or call WVU CED Nutrition services at 304-205-6423.
