Preston Seaberg, MD, FACP has been named Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education at West Virginia University’s School of Medicine Charleston Campus. Dr. Seaberg is an assistant professor in the department of internal medicine, where he is a generalist and, currently, an associate program director. “Despite being busy with the IM residency, Dr. Seaberg has always found time to engage with important school of medicine committees, such as CAPS, and to engage with our medical students, who are often effusive when discussing Dr. Seaberg,” said Dr. James R. Campbell, associate vice president for health sciences and dean of the school of medicine at WVU’s Charleston Campus. “He’s clearly a beloved mentor and someone who takes an interest in both core education and external endeavors, such as CHASM and other student special interests.” In this role, Dr. Seaberg will work with the dean’s office and student services, ensuring high standards of curriculum delivery, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting excellence in medical education in the WVU School of Medicine Charleston regional campus. "What a privilege it's been already to work with our medical students as a faculty member,” Dr. Seaberg said. “I'm excited and honored to partner with them and the School of Medicine in this role, and I'll work hard to live up to the high standards of this ever-expanding part of my identity: being a Mountaineer.
