West Virginia University School of Medicine graduate Patrice Harris, M.D., was recently elected as chair of the American Medical Association’s (AMA) Board of Trustees. Dr. Harris is the first African-American woman to hold this office. -

Construction will begin June 16 on two new conference rooms (G-119 A and B) on the ground floor of Health Sciences North. Two WVU Medicine–WVU Hospitals programs, the Stroke Center and the Heart Failure Program, have received awards from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines® quality-improvement program recognizing their excellence in care and commitment to improvement.
