  • “Souper Day” lunch raises more than $500 for Relay

    Dozens of WVU Cancer Institute faculty, staff and healthcare providers enjoyed a variety of soups, desserts and beverages this past Friday in the atrium for a worthy cause. The “Souper Day” lunch was organized by the Cancer Crushers, a Cancer Institute team at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center that is fundraising for the American Cancer Society Monongalia County Relay For Life in June.

  • WVU Medicine physician named Walker Chair in Pediatric Cardiology

    Larry A. Rhodes, M.D., professor and pediatric cardiologist, has been named the James H. Walker, M.D. Chair in Pediatric Cardiology in the West Virginia University School of Medicine. An investiture ceremony will be held on April 2, 2018 in the Pylons Lobby of the WVU Health Sciences Center.

  • Boyd and Lewis named WVPBRN co-directors

    MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Jennifer Boyd, PA-C, clinical coordinator with the West Virginia Primary Care Association and family practice physician’s assistant at the New River Health Association, and William Lewis, M.D., family medicine physician with Harpers Ferry Family Medicine and associate professor at West Virginia University Easter Division, have recently been named co-directors of the West Virginia Practice-Based Research Network (WVPBRN).

Offit, M.D., a physician-scientist who is an expert in infectious diseases, immunology, virology and vaccine and the founding director of the Autism Science Foundation, will speak on “Scientific Misadventures: Learning from the Past,” at noon, Friday, March 23 in the Patteson Auditorium at WVU’s Health Sciences Center.
