The West Virginia University School of Medicine Rural Family Medicine Residency Program will welcome five West Virginia medical students to the program in July. For the first time in the program’s history, each incoming resident is a current rural scholar from either the West Virginia University School of Medicine or the West Virginia School for Osteopathic Medicine. -

West Virginia University’s graduating medical students will go to 24 states and Washington, D.C. for their residency placements. West Virginia will retain 48% of the class. The placement announcements were made as part of the University’s Match Day celebration, Friday, March 15.
